How to Hand and Make

How to Make Organic Peppermint Essential Oil Hand Soap

“Oh, there’s no place like the bathroom for the holidays…and soap!”

Let’s face it, with crowds in and out, the bathroom needs to be clean and tidy. I know how to keep it smelling fresh, while making sure big and little people wash their hands.
Do you love hand soap as much as I do? Here is the easiest recipe to make your own scented soap in no time at all! And don’t forget to grab your printable label at the end of this post.

I have no idea what my obsession is, but I love soap bottles and a good smelling hand soap. Where did this love come from? God only knows. Maybe because my mom was always making me wash my hands.

Regardless, for the holidays and a pick me up, why not whip up a batch of peppermint soap? It takes no time at all and the scent is WOW! Say “Hello!” to candy canes and winter breezes.

Here’s what you need:

Plastic Soap Bottle- I have the ones I used linked below under Shop This Post

Pure Castile Organic  Soap – Dr. Bronner’s *available at Target, Wholefoods

Peppermint Essential Oil

Distilled Water – Available at most grocery stores and pharmacies

Any ribbon, or tag, if you want to make the container pretty for your family, or give as a gift. You can even find some great stickers at craft stores to stick on. Personally, when giving as a gift, I’m a big fan of simple cardstock tags.

Make the blend:

Depending on the size of the bottle, will depend on how much soap you use and oil. You can decide if you want your peppermint soap to pack a punch. Personally, I like 50 drops of my Peppermint Essential Oil because it is pure and I love the fresh, awakening smell of peppermint that lingers in the air and on my hands.

Begin to pour the Castile soap into the plastic soap bottle until it reaches about 3/4ths of the way into your new soap bottle.

Add about 1/4 cup of distilled water.

Gently shake and swirl the ingredients.

Wipe your bottle down. Put the top on tight and squirt!

It foams up really nicely too! (And please excuse my wrinkled, nana hands. They run in the family.)
